Social Skill is any skill facilitating a positive interaction and communication with others. Social rules and relations are communicated in verbal and nonverbal ways. Socialization is the process of learning these skills. Social anxiety can impact the ability to apply adequately developed social skills. Also, children who have substantial social skill difficulty may have autism or an autism spectrum condition. Empirically supported treatments for autism include: social skill training, applied behavior analysis, functional behavior analysis, and behavior modification to name a few.
