Sleep Problems

Sleep Problems are commonly associated with dissatisfaction with sleep quantity or quality and can be associated with difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or early awakening. There are different types of sleep problems. Some are related to medical conditions such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and restless leg syndrome to name a few, but some sleep problems are not due to medical/physical or neurological problems to include: insomnia and circadian sleep-wake disturbance. Anxiety and depression can impact sleep quantity and quality. Common empirically supported treatments include: cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), sleep restriction, sleep hygiene training, stimulus control, relaxation therapy, photo-therapy, dark-therapy.
